About The Agatston Center®

What is The Agatston Center®?

The Agatston Center® for Preventive Medicine is a concierge medical practice in Miami Beach, Florida, founded and led by world-renowned cardiologist Dr. Arthur Agatston — the pioneer behind the coronary calcium score. Our team of expert physicians focuses on preventing disease before it starts, using advanced diagnostics, personalized care plans, and the latest in longevity medicine.

Who is Dr. Agatston?

Dr. Arthur Agatston is an internationally recognized cardiologist and the creator of the Coronary Artery Calcium (CAC) Score — one of the most important tools in preventive cardiology used by doctors worldwide. He is also the author of The South Beach Diet and has spent decades pioneering non-invasive approaches to detecting and preventing heart disease. He co-created the first Preventive Cardiovascular Fellowship at Houston Methodist DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center.

Where is The Agatston Center® located?

We are located at 1691 Michigan Ave, Suite 300, Miami Beach, FL 33139. While our home is Miami Beach, we care for patients from across the United States and around the world.

What We Treat & Offer

What is preventive cardiology?

Preventive cardiology focuses on identifying and reducing your risk of heart disease before symptoms appear — not just treating problems after the fact. At The Agatston Center®, we use FDA-cleared advanced testing (including AI-enabled coronary CTA and Agatston 2.0 – an AI-powered calcium score) alongside lifestyle medicine to build a proactive, personalized plan for your long-term heart health.

What is a coronary calcium score (CAC score)?

A coronary artery calcium (CAC) score is a non-invasive CT scan that measures calcified plaque in the arteries of your heart. It is one of the most accurate tools for predicting heart disease risk — and it was pioneered by Dr. Agatston. A calcium score of zero means very low risk; higher scores indicate a need for more active prevention. The test takes about 10 minutes and requires no injections or dye.

Do you offer longevity medicine?

Yes. Longevity medicine is a core part of our practice. We go beyond treating disease to help you live better, longer. This includes comprehensive metabolic testing, hormonal health, sleep optimization, nutritional guidance, fitness planning, and continuous monitoring — all personalized to your unique biology and goals.

Do you provide primary care?

Yes. Our physicians provide comprehensive primary care as part of your concierge membership, including preventive screenings, chronic disease management, acute care, and direct physician access year-round.

Concierge Medicine & Membership

What is concierge medicine?

Concierge medicine is a model where patients pay an annual membership fee for direct, unhurried access to their physician, staff, and services at the center. At The Agatston Center®, this means same-day or next-day appointments, longer visits, direct physician communication, and a doctor who truly knows your history and health goals. It’s medicine the way it was always meant to be.

How is The Agatston Center® different from a traditional doctor's office?

Traditional practices manage thousands of patients per physician. Our model intentionally limits patient panels so your doctor has the time and bandwidth to provide truly personalized, proactive care. There are no rushed 15-minute visits. We invest in understanding you.

How much does membership cost?

Annual membership fees vary based on the services included in your personalized care plan. Space is intentionally limited to ensure every patient receives focused attention. We invite you to contact us for details and to schedule a consultation.

Do you accept insurance?

As a concierge practice, The Agatston Center® operates outside of traditional insurance networks. Many of our patients use their insurance or HSA/FSA accounts for certain diagnostic tests. We’re happy to discuss the details during your consultation.

What should I expect at my first appointment?

Your first visit is a comprehensive conversation. We take time to understand your health history, your lifestyle, your risk factors, and your goals. From there, we’ll recommend the appropriate advanced testing and develop a personalized prevention plan built around you.
